With summer fast approaching you want to be beach and poolside ready! And what better way to do that than to the have the hottest bathing suits trends 2017 has to offer. Don’t feel like your beach body is ready? That’s okay one pieces, long sleeve and high wasted swimsuits are all the rage for this year’s beach attire and a quick fix to any area you may be uncomfortable with. This summer we are seeing everything from nearly nude to full body coverage! You’ll be sure to find the style that best suits you.
Baywatch babe: One pieces have never been so hot before. We are seeing them in a plethora of styles making it easy to feel that much more comfortable in your swimwear. Everyone has a problem area, we are only human, and that’s why I’m so excited about all the amazing one pieces with built-in shape wear. Long sleeves, short sleeves, spaghetti straps or strapless, crew neck, deep v, round neck and even turtle neck are now all trendy swimwear styles.
Nearly nude: Nearly nude may seem scary but it’s really just a colour choice. These skin tone bathing suits are great for giving you a seamless look and they can be done in any style, making them work for everyone!
Neon pop: Everyone loves the flattering shade of black but why not add a little pop to it this summer? You can either go full force and embrace those summer vibes by doing a full neon swimsuit or another great way to add some colourful summer beach vibes to your typical black bathing suit is grabbing one with neon accents.
Denim: As Canadians, we obviously love denim having started the Canadian tuxedo trend that became a phenomenon across the world, but now we are bringing it into swimwear! That’s right – not only can you have your favourite jean shorts (a summer staple) but now you can pair them with a denim swim suit too.
Mixology: I couldn’t think of a better place to take risk with colours and print than bathing suits and that’s what I’d love everyone to try this coming season. Prints can be intimidating, but this summer anything goes! From alternative camo, animal print, to your basic stripes and polka dots this trend is all about mixing and matching. This can be done with mixing and matching bikini/ t-shirt-kini tops and bottoms to your bathing suit and your cover up or simply buy an amazing one piece that has done a mix of patterns and colours for you.
Sir Tommy Bahama: The old school shirt best known to be worn by that embarrassing dad is now a trend! The modern tropical trend is big not only on the runway for brands like Dolce and Gabbana, but is now huge for bathing suits this summer for both guys and gals. This is a classic beach look that’s really taken off and become high fashion.
Coachella vibes: The 70s is hotter now than it was in the 70s and with festivals being all the rage, it only makes sense to see these hippy vibes being executed in bathing suits trends. Velvet fringe, cut outs, crochet, one shoulder tops/one pieces and wrap ups are what’s hot this summer. Bathing suits are able to do double duty and pass as festival wear to create a summer 2017 must have trend.
