“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.”
– Sophia Loren

Spoken from the lips of the old Hollywood glamour goddess Sophia Loren, “Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.” Arguably the most important day in a woman’s life is her wedding day, and on that special day every bride wants to feel beautiful. What is it that gives a bride this feeling… Is it the dress, the hair, makeup, bouquet, jewellery? Consider for a moment that it may not be each individual element but rather all combined, the full package, which determines how the bride feels on her wedding day.

Brilliant custom jewellery designer, Tara Fava, wants nothing more than to assist in providing that feeling to every bride wearing her custom designed pieces. Upon first impression, you can already feel her warm spirit. Soft-spoken and genuine, she explains the importance of ensuring that every client loves the final pieces. Fava says, “I named my company Tara Fava Jewellery in an effort to highlight how much I value providing personal attention to my clients.”

The Vaughan-born designer grew up surrounded by creative minds. “From a young age, I understood how accessories could change an outfit and I appreciated that each piece could create a unique look,” says Fava. Her mother, a former business owner and hair stylist, acted as her personal consultant dressing her in trendy outfits, high heels and embellishing each ensemble with dazzling accessories. (No look is ever complete without accessorizing!) Her story began a few years back, the day after graduation when she registered for a business with no exact thoughts. With the knowledge that she had creativity flowing in her blood, she was determined to find her niche, and that she has.

Handling only high quality materials, Fava meticulously takes into consideration the personality and individuality of each client and incorporates that into her creations. The unique pieces are to be a reflection of those who they adorn. Viewing the wedding dress makes all the difference in determining the required jewellery. “I can usually visualize what pieces will suit them and work best with the look of the dress,” explains Fava. The cut, the shape, the neckline and the materials, all of these facets aid in forming a decision on what pieces will complete the look. After consultation, Fava moves forward with creating the jewellery. Using unique vintage stones and Swarovski crystals and pearls placed in settings of rhodium, rose gold or gold metals, Fava personally handcrafts each set of earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Although she is no one-woman-show, her mother plays a vital role in the design and sourcing materials; the two challenge each other to perfect the final product.

Since the inception of her business, Fava has been accompanying clients to their dress fittings, providing the personal attention she believes is deserved. Through this, she has come to form a professional relationship with bridal couture designer, Ines Di Santo. After being approached by Veronica, Ines’ daughter, Fava accepted an offer to form a partnership creating the perfect synergy. Both brands present a customized and elevated experience and the two together are a bride’s dream.

The Tara Fava Jewellery collection includes an array of jewellery pieces. From earrings, bracelets, statement necklaces, back necklaces, hair accessories, halo headpieces, shoulder pieces and even foot pieces. Her line is essentially comprised of anything and everything that can be jewelled. As a proud supporter of the Canadian Arts & Fashion community, many of her pieces can be found featured in photoshoots in Canadian publications of WedLuxe and Wedding Bells. She draws inspiration from the Old Hollywood style, the likes of Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren who lived in an era where beauty and class went hand in hand. “What’s old is always new again,” Fava explains.
